Richard Thompson Webb (1887-1975), who legally changed his name to Thompson Webb, was a California educator and founder of the Webb School in Claremont. The son of educator and U.S. Senator Sawney Webb (1842-1926), Thompson Webb taught at the Webb School in Tennessee founded by his father before he moved with his family to California in 1922.
